The Hobbit & Tolkien a Biography

While I was on holiday one of the books I read was The Hobbit. I have read The Lord of the Rings a few years ago and with The Hobbit movie coming soon I wanted to read the book before I see the movie. A few weeks ago me and Tammy went for a walk to the library and I found this this book, J.R.R. Tolkien A Biography, I just had to read it. I quite like reading biographies. This has been the most inspiring biography I have ever read. It is so well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not a writer and cannot write reviews, (I’ll leave that up to dearest Tammy, read her blog here or follow her on twitter) but being a great admirer of Tolkien work it was wonderful to read about his life and to see that sometimes ordinary people to extraordinary things…

Read the book and decide for yourself.

“Before him stood the Tree, his Tree, finished. If you could say that of a Tree that was alive, its leaves opening, its branches growing and bending in the wind that Niggle had so often felt and guessed, and had so often failed to catch. He gazed at the Tree, and slowly he lifted his arms and opened them wide.
‘It’s a gift!” he said.” Leaf by Niggle – J.R.R. Tolkien
